"Sado Island Gold Mines" Preservation and Utilization Promotion Network

The Sado Island Gold Mines Preservation and Utilization Promotion Network was launched on May 22, 2025 to promote preservation efforts by utilizing the entire local community, bringing together the strengths of individuals, companies, organizations, and government agencies in an effort to pass down the Sado Island Gold Mines to future generations while developing the local community in a sustainable manner.  

The network is an alliance organization that allows each member to cooperate in voluntary activities and administrative initiatives within the scope possible, based on the following activity policies.

Network Activity Policy

Inheritance and Development

Engage in efforts to pass on values and foster supporters of the Heritage Site.

Examples: guiding on-site study sessions, teaching outreach courses for children and the public, holding lectures and study sessions, etc.

Conservation

Engage in efforts to preserve the value of the Heritage Site.

Examples: Implementing or participating in environmental beautification activities such as mowing grass and cleaning.

Dissemination

Engage in efforts to spread and promote the value of the Heritage Site. 

Examples: Displaying logos on business cards and envelopes, displaying stickers on vehicles, posting and distributing posters and pamphlets, disseminating information through websites and social media.

Expansion

Engage in efforts related to expanding the non-resident population.

Examples: event hosting and sponsorship, developing related products, creating travel products, etc.

Research

Engage in efforts related to research and site surveys.

Examples: conducting research on constituent assets and related cultural properties, cooperating with government research and investigations, etc.

Support & Promotion

Organizations shall endeavor to express support for initiatives related to the preservation of the value of the Sado Island Gold Mines and shall also strive to ensure that these initiatives are disseminated widely across Japan and overseas.

Examples include publishing supportive messages through organizational media and expanding initiatives from the Niigata branch to the head office and overseas offices.
