佐渡金銀山の世界遺産登録に向けて / Sado Gold and Silver Mine, for the World Heritage

佐渡には16世紀半ばから開発された大規模な金銀山が存在し、これらの遺跡は良好な状態で保存されています。
県と佐渡市は、佐渡金銀山遺跡の世界遺産登録に向け、さまざまな取組を進めています。
平成20年9月、国の文化審議会は、佐渡金銀山遺跡を我が国の世界遺産暫定一覧表に記載するべき遺産として選定しました。
There were some large-scale mines which had been developed from the middle of the 16th century and those remains are preserved in good condition in Sado Island.
Niigata Prefecture and Sado City are now working for Sado Gold and Silver Mine to be inscribed on the World Heritage list.
The Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan selected Sado Gold and Silver Mine as a site to be added in Japan's World Heritage Tentative List in September 2008.
